Damian Jozwik was born in Sosnowiec, southern Poland in 1983. After graduating from technical college, he began to study philosophy at the Silesian University. Soon however his interest in world cultures, travel and more adventurous side of life led him to his real passion.
In 2005 he decided to move to the UK, where he began to study photography. After completing a short course in Digital Photography & Creative Digital Imaging, he starts studying Documentary and Fine Art Photography through Liverpool John Moore’s University, where in 2010 he graduated with a first class BA (Hons) degree.
Natural photographic instinct led Damian to take his camera into the countless streets of many European cities where he documented everyday life and developed his photographic style. Using various mediums, including photography, video and text, he combines classic approach to photojournalism with today’s technology and design. His signature is shooting candid photos that tell a story and capture the spontaneous emotion of a moment. He has a true passion for expressions and shows that in his photographs.
As a result of that mix, his in-depth documentary reportages and photos reveals a deeply complex social understanding while still offering an exquisite artistic vision.
